Minutes: Members considered Report No: DoR36/22 of the Interim Director of Resources which provides an update from the External Auditor on the Statement of Accounts Audit for 2020/21 and a Sector Update.
Members raised the following points on the report: · Will the corrections in the 2021 report impact the 2022 figures; · If there are capacity issues in the team; · And the impact of being a mayoral authority on attracting funding;
The Interim Director of Resources stated that the corrections in the 2021 report will be incorporated in the 2022 figures, this will alter the balance sheet, but not revenue. In terms of capacity, there are two new members in the team, it is a moving picture though in that they are pulled towards LGR at times.
The External Auditor commented in relation to the mayoral authorities that different models work for different authorities – it is not one size fits all. The Interim Director of Resources also commented that mayoral authorities do bring in more funding, but it is usually on very specific projects.
Proposed by Councillor McCall Seconded by Councillor Greenwood
and RESOLVED that the Accounts and Governance Committee note the report. |
