Scrutiny Structure Review PDF 227 KB To consider report G77/19 from the Interim Assistant Director Governance which consider findings and recommendations of the Scrutiny Structure Task and Finish Scrutiny Group.
RECOMMENDATIONS that the Accounts and Governance Committee: 1. Comments upon the report which is attached as Appendix 2 to this report; and 2. Recommends the findings of the report to Council. Additional documents:
Minutes: Members considered report G74/19 from the Director of Corporate Services which considered findings and recommendations of the Scrutiny Structure Task and Finish scrutiny group.

and RESOLVED that the Accounts and Governance Committee endorse the proposal being put to Council that with effect from the commencement of the municipal year for 2020/21 the current three scrutiny committees be replaced with one ‘Overview and Scrutiny Select Committee’, comprising 12 Members, meeting no less than six times per year.

and RESOLVED that the Accounts and Governance Committee endorse the proposal being put to Council that the ‘Overview and Scrutiny Committee’ be given authority to convene task and finish groups to supplement their work.
Proposed by Councillor Orchard Seconded by Councillor Wicks
and RESOLVED that the Accounts and Governance Committee endorse the proposal being put to Council that consideration be given to the re-introduction of a Forward Plan of work of the Executive.
The Accounts and Governance Committee commented that all non-executive Members should be invited to take part in all task and finish groups. |
