Recruitment - Chief Executive and Director of Resources pdf icon PDF 247 KB

To consider report CE3/21 of the Deputy Chief Executive, which is attached, and which seeks to consider the options for the appointment of a Chief Executive and Director of Resources.

RECOMMENDATIONS that members consider the evaluation of the options for the recruitment of a Chief Executive and Director of Resources set out in the report.

1             That members identify which option they wish to pursue for the recruitment of a Chief Executive, either:

a.            To commence the recruitment of a Chief Executive on a permanent basis and to open discussion with Carlisle City Council for the continuation of the current shared arrangements until a new Chief Executive is in position; or

b.            To commence the recruitment of a Chief Executive on a fixed term basis for a period up to March 2023 (with an option to extend to March 2024) and to open discussion with Carlisle City Council for the continuation of the current shared arrangements until a new Chief Executive is in position; or

c.            Open discussion with Carlisle City Council for the continuation of the current shared arrangements until December 2021 by which time the position in respect of Local Government Reorganisation is expected to be formally confirmed.

2             That members identify which option they wish to pursue for the recruitment of a Director of Resources, either:

a.            To commence the recruitment of a Director of Resources on a permanent basis and to open discussion with the current interim Director of Corporate Services to extend existing arrangements until a new Director of Resources is in position; or

b.            To commence the recruitment of a Director of Resources on a fixed term basis for a period up to March 2023 (with an option to extend to March 2024) and to open discussion with the current interim Director of Corporate Services to extend existing arrangements until a new Director of Resources is in position; or

c.            Open discussion with the current interim Director of Corporate Services for the continuation of the current arrangements until December 2021 by which time the position in respect of Local Government Reorganisation is expected to be formally confirmed.

2                 open discussion with the current Interim Director of Corporate Services for the continuation of the current arrangements until December 2021 by which time the position in respect of Local Government Reorganisation is expected to be formally confirmed.
