Apologies for Absence

Minutes:

At the start of the meeting, the Monitoring Officer advised that this meeting was being hosted remotely using conferencing software which allowed Members, Officers and public attendance whilst being able to protect themselves and others, whilst observing the Government’s lockdown measures.

 

The Monitoring Officer also stated that all votes during this meeting would be taken through an informal recorded vote, though would not be noted as such in the minutes.

 

A Roll Call of all those Members in attendance remotely was then taken.

 

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Armstrong, Councillor Raine attended as substitute, Councillor Banks, Councillor Ryland attended as substitute, and Councillor Nicolson, Councillor Dew attended as substitute.

Members considered report F31/20 from the Interim Director of Corporate Services which asked Members to consider the options for the appointment of an acting Chief Executive for the Council informed by the report produced by North West Employers.

 

Proposed by Councillor Robinson

Seconded by Councillor Taylor

 

and RESOLVED that:

 

1.    Members considered the options for the appointment of an Acting Chief Executive and have identified that they wished that all options be further investigated:

 

2.    the additional information be sought for what is required regarding for the three internal options presented in the report;

 

3.    officers engage with other bodies including North West Employers, recruitment agencies and other Councils to gather the information required;

 

4.    Members review a detailed comparative analysis of the options identified at its next meeting; and

 

5.    in advance of the specification for North West Employers being finalised, it will be circulated amongst Members for majority approval.
