Election of Vice-Chairman

To elect a Vice-Chairman of the Human Resources and Appeals Committee for the 2019/20 municipal year.

Minutes:

Proposed by Councillor Sharp

Seconded by Councillor Patterson

 

and RESOLVED that Councillor Robinson be appointed Vice-Chairman of the Human Resources and Appeals Committee.

Apologies for Absence

Minutes:

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Armstrong, Councillor Thompson attended as substitute; Councillor Banks, Councillor Patterson attended as substitute; Councillor Owen and Councillor Rudhall.

Declarations of Interest

To receive declarations of the existence and nature of any private interests, both disclosable pecuniary and any other registrable interests, in any matter to be considered or being considered..

 

Minutes:

Councillor Nicolson gave a personal explanation in that one of the applicants was known to him.  He stated that he would remain in the room and vote on the matter.

To consider whether, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, members of the public (including the press) should be excluded from the meeting during discussion of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of Part 1 to Schedule 12A of the Act

To interview Candidates for the post of Director of People and Place

Timetable of interviews attached, with the rest of the documentation to be circulated at a later date.

Minutes:

In response to a query from a Member the Chief Executive agreed that officers would give more advance notice to Members in respect of future Human Resources and Appeals Committee meetings..

 

The Member Services Officer left the Chamber at 9.05am.

 

The Committee undertook interviews of the candidates who had been shortlisted for the post of Director of People and Place.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 1.10pm.

 

The meeting reconvened at 1.45pm.

 

The Member Services Officer entered the Chamber at 2.05pm.

and RESOLVED that Solace, be authorised to make an offer to interview candidate 1, the preferred candidate.
